Tanking on the way home Heldt is just in time to control an exploding amateur bomb brought into the station by state of the art robot. *Grün fearing a test run, he and prosecutor Bannenberg focus on a lead to chemistry student Alan Barsani, who has a geocaching game alibi. Heldt believes it and makes a mode cars racing circuit friend, car crash-crippled Manuel Unterberg. Other club members like dubious cleaning firm manager Dierk Jager also make plausible suspects, but Heldt must face his buddy's accident's tragic shadow back to his single mother's home where he was forced to move back in due to his wheelchair.

The quiet place in the gallery of the church in Iffeldorf, where Lena Fauch occasionally found refuge and listened to the organist practise, is a place she will not see again for a long time. She accepts the offer from Detective Superintendent Kuda and becomes a police chaplain in Munich. Her first assignment confronts her with the criminal investigator Gregor Hoffmann. Hoffmann, who was assaulted during an arrest, is supposed to work through his misconduct with Lena Fauch. Hoffmann is unapproachable and rude. The encounters with him are provocative and disturbing. Chief Inspector Christian Fenn behaves quite differently. He is a self-confessed Christian and is delighted to have Lena as support in what he calls the "fight against Sodom and Gomorrah". Fenn is firmly convinced that he is one of the good guys.

The Munich business lawyer Marc is not happy: Instead of going to New York as planned, he has to travel to the province of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at short notice to represent his sick grandfather as a pub owner for four weeks. The lawyer juggles millions of dollars every day - it should be easy for him to get grandpa's ailing tavern going with Western know-how. But the down-to-earth Ossis are not in the mood for tapas and Thai food. Marc only realizes this when he gets to know and love the young, single parent Carmen.
